Jowett Cars Ltd was one of the pioneering makes in the British auto industry and the Jupiter was their entry into the sports car market. Innovative features such as an aluminum body placed over a tube frame chassis with adjustable torsion bar suspension made for a nimble sports roadster. Only 270 of the MkI model in left hand drive were built making this a very rare sports car.
Jowett Cars Ltd was one of the pioneering makes in the British auto industry and the Jupiter was their entry into the sports car market. The innovative features such as an aluminum body placed over a tube frame chassis with adjustable torsion bar suspension made for a nimble sports roadster on par with any of its contemporaries. Winning its class at LeMans in 1950 plus wins at other rallyes such as Lisbon and Monte Carlo bear this out.
It is estimated that as much as 52% of Jupiters remain which is an astonishing number in the field of collector cars and a testament both to the durability of Jupiters and the enthusiasm of their owners. That said, its worth noting that only 270 of the MkI model in left hand drive were built to begin with making this a very rare sports car at any survival rate.
This is truly a once in a lifetime chance to own a unique and capable example of this vintage British sports car.
