This car has had a quality, rotisserie restoration. Properly restored engine and engine bay include functioning vacuum tank and unique uncovered valvetrain. Interior correctly restored with original gauges, wood steering wheel and front floor boards. Chevrolet radiator badge, rad cap, clock in mirror, step plates and rear mount spare with cover. There is a photo documentation of the restoration including complete mechanical rebuild.
Chevrolet introduced the new Superior model line in 1923. This was the predecessor and upscale model to the Chevrolet 490. The Chevrolet Superior was in competition to Henry Ford’s Model T. This example was the 4 door open body style referred to as the Touring Model.
This stunning 95 year old Chevrolet has previsouly seen a high quality, total rotisserie restoration. Refinished in period correct colours, it has a rich maroon body and all steel tuxedo black fenders and splash aprons. It is completed with a black canvas convertible top.
It has a properly restored engine and engine bay including functioning original vacuum tank and Chevrolet’s unique uncovered valvetrain. The correct and original 30 inch wooden spoked wheels have been finely restored and are stunning in appearance.
The interior has been correctly restored with original gauges, beautiful wood steering wheel and front floor boards. Black leatherette upholstery and properly restored door panels are in place. The car also has side curtains which are stored under the rear seat compartment.
With few accessories available in the day, this early Chevrolet can boast of having the original Chevrolet cloisonne radiator badge, “dog bone” script Chevrolet rad cap, Chevrolet script clock in the rearview mirror, four Chevrolet script aluminum step plates and a rear mounted spare with script wheel cover.
This outstanding 95 year old Chevrolet has been correctly and authentically restored and truthfully, it is likely better than it was when new. There is a photo documentation of the restoration including the complete mechanical rebuild.
This stunning example is truly a piece of automotive history and would certainly please the most descerning of collectors.
