Mercury had a runaway sales success with its new Cougar which was also named Motor Trend Car of the Year. A limited number were sold as Dan Gurney Special Editions in honour of the Mercury race driver. This survivor is one such car. A one owner car, it retains the original interior and still runs great. Powered by a 289 V8 with 4 speed manual transmission and Trak-Loc limited slip rearend. The chrome is mint and there is a Marti Report.
Mercury not only had a runaway sales success with its new Cougar, it was also named as the Motor Trend Car of the Year. To commemorate this, a limited number of Cougars were released as Dan Gurney Special Editions. Dan Gurney had enjoyed great racing success behind the wheel of Mercury products which made this a natural fit. This survivor has had one owner for its life and is an excitng addition to the auction. Rarely seen today, it retains the original interior and still runs great. Powered by a 289 V8 with a factory 4 speed manual transmission and Trak-Loc limited slip rearend.
