Ultra rare 25th anniversary Heritage Edition with L98 – 350 engine. Top of the line for ’92 with all power options.
This car is a very rare combination of the 25th Anniversary Heritage package in the top of the line Z28 with the L98 350 engine. According to GM production numbers, out of 70,007 Camaros built for 1992, only 2449 were Z28 coupes with the L98 350. GM did not publish production numbers for how many of those had the 25th Anniversary Heritage package, but on a statistical basis it’s possible that as few as 355 of the 8197 Heritage package cars were Z28 – L98 cars. And since the Heritage package was offered in 5 different colour combinations, even fewer were white, although white may have been the most popular.
This was the last year for the 3rd Gen Camaro and arguably the best 3rd Gen for performance appearance and reliability. The L98 TP1 350 engine, carried over from the Corvette, had 245 HP @4400 RPM and a very stout 345 ft lbs of TQ @ 3200 RPM – actually more TQ than the 2002 Z28 which was rated at 340 ft lbs of TQ @ 4000 RPM. New equipment for 1991 & 1992 included new style 16-in. cast-aluminum lightweight wheels for the Z28, aero-styled rocker panels and a high-profile rear deck lid spoiler for the Z28, and in 1992 GM strengthened the overall structure of the Camaro by using a special epoxy in addition to welds on all the major chassis seams.
This car has new front brakes and battery. The air conditioning was upgraded and repaired with a new condenser, evaporator, accumulator, orifice tube and new lines. Also within the last 5000 kms the car has had new exhaust, tires and a starter.
