While clearly derived from the Testarossa, the 512TR was enough of an evolution that Ferrari felt comfortable in renaming this classic. Still displacing 5.0 liters, the V12 engine had enough upgrades to see power now at 440hp but as important, the power curve was broader which translated to quicker acceleration and an engine that was easier to live with on the street. Better brakes, quicker steering, an improved shifter and better shocks and tires all worked together to achieve a more faster, better stopping and handling sports car. Interior and exterior changes could also be found but most done with an eye to improving the driving experience and not just change for the sake of change.
