Finished in its original colour Persimmon over Classic white with matching interior, black power top and Persimmon boot. Deluxe steering wheel, p/steering, p/brakes, p/windows, p/front seat, T&C radio and clock. Only 425 test miles since restoration.

One of the finest 1956 Mercury Convertibles in existence, this Montclair has spent its entire life in southern California, where it received a complete, concours-level restoration by a California-based marque expert. This car is well known to Mercury enthusiasts as the “Persimmon Mercury” or “Priscilla”; however, it has never been shown at the national level, where it would certainly rival all competing entries.

Finished in its original colour combination of Persimmon over Classic White with a matching interior, the Montclair’s lines are enhanced by a black power-operated convertible top and a Persimmon boot. In addition, an abundance of excellent brightwork, a driver’s side spotlight, rear fender skirts, period correct wide whitewall tires, and “spinner” wheel covers complete the 1950s look. The many options include a Deluxe steering wheel, power steering, power brakes, a power front seat and power windows, as well as a Town and Country Radio and a clock. The underhood area reveals an exceptionally detailed 312 cubic inch V8 engine, topped with a set of aluminum valve covers with the distinctive Mercury insignia.

Since the completion of its restoration, the car has been driven a total of approximately 425 test miles, and it has been thoroughly sorted, standing ready to be driven anywhere with confidence. Classic Mercurys of this high quality are rarely available, and are highly coveted by knowledgeable collectors. The new owner will certainly experience the pride and joy of ownership, whether cruising with the top down, or in the winners circle when the car takes to the show field.
