Equipped with a correctly and extensively rebuilt 400 cubic inch V8 with an automatic transmission, this GTO starts with ease and settles into a nice throaty sounding idle. Putting the console mounted shift lever into drive and applying throttle shows this GTO is still ready to move. The transmission shifts smoothly and the car accelerates to highway speeds without hesitation. Stepping on the power brake pedal brings it all to a halt. A solid car with such extensive documentation that drives so nicely is an uncommon joy and this is a GTO that can be bid with confidence.
