This Stutz is a 1969 prototype designed by Virgil Exner. Completely hand built by Ghia in Turin, Italy at a cost of $200,000 US. A true museum piece with only 20,000 original miles, it comes with original documentation and photos with celebrities.
The Stutz offered here is the 1969 prototype designed by Virgil Exner. Completely hand built by Ghia in Turin, Italy at a cost of $200,000 US. Elvis, Sinatra, Petere Lawford, Sammy Davis, Dick Martin and Lucy all wanted to buy this car, but it was never sold and remained in the hands of James O’Donnel (the founder) until his death. The next car built, bought by Elvis and displayed in Graceland, is the only one identical to this car. Sinatra wanted the second car but Stutz was convinced to sell it to Elvis, and as a result, Sinatra vowed never to purchase one. The car features a balanced and blue printed 428 cu. in. V8, which was never done in any of the production cars. All other cars were less hand built to reduce costs. All the celebrities that bout Stutz drove this car. This car debuted at the Waldorf Astoria New York Auto Show and was also shown in Geneva and Paris. Many cars have celebrity status, but not many were driven by all the Rat Pack and their celebrity friends. A true museum piece with only 20,000 original miles, it comes with original documentation including the first cheque to purchase the first chassis, a cheque to advance the company funds to start up, stock prospectus, original brochures and photos with celebrities. The Connelly leather interior is completely original and has not been changed of the history because of the history of its drivers. The car is complete with its unique 35 year old 17 x 3.5 inch Firestone tires and rims, which were recalled on all the cars because of blow outs. Truly a unique car with a unique history.
