How is it possible for this car, after more than 20 years, to look like it just rolled off the delivery truck from the factory? Because the original owner made the decision to preserve it in this way. After waiting more than a year for his Viper order to be filled, the selling dealer called the original buyer to let him know the truck had just rolled up with his Viper and that as soon as it was prepped he could come and pick it up. The buyer instructed the dealer, in no uncertain terms, that he was NOT to prep the car and he was coming immediately to get it! Living nearby, the buyer was able to literally get to the dealer as his new Viper was being unloaded. It went from the delivery transport and onto the buyers own trailer. It then went to his climate controlled storage where it remained to this day. The plastic covering on the seats and steering wheel were carefully removed and saved. This allowed this amazing V10 powered roadster to be driven approximately 50 km per year for a grand total of slightly over 1,200. These careful drives were undergone for the sole purpose of ensuring the car’s mechanical components remained in operating condition. The documentation which accompanies this Viper is, as you would expect, quite extensive. Included are the original bill of sale, the window sticker, the original owner’s manual and warranty booklet. However, it also contains some very rare surprises such as the condition report from the shipping company and the shipping order from Chrysler. The factory car cover in the original Viper duffle bag is still in the trunk. All inspection marks and assembly line stickers remain as they were placed by the employees at the Team Viper Mack Ave Assembly plant. As a matter of interest, as the car was coming down the assembly line in 1993, a plant employee, using a crayon, wrote the last 3 numbers of the car’s VIN on the windshield. The original owner taped a home-made “flap” to the windshield that has protected these 3 numbers from getting rubbed off, and these 3 numbers are still there today! A genuine time capsule Viper, this is as close as you can get to having an “Assembly Line” fresh example of the first generation Viper. These first Vipers are considered by many to be the best and purest examples of everything the Viper was meant to be. A true roadster without many frills and a very powerful and revolutionary 10 cylinder engine. The car comes standard equipped with factory dual side-mounted stainless exhaust, composite body panels, 4 wheel independent suspension, tubular space frame, power 4 wheel vented disc brakes, power rack & pinion steering, speed rated directional tires, white-faced gauges including a 300 kph speedometer, premium sound system, leather-wrapped steering wheel and more. Further to the long list of factory features, this one-owner Viper was ordered with factory air conditioning! This fabulous exotic automobile from the Robert Gladwish Collection has to be the most untouched “Factory Assembly Line” original Viper in the world!
