By now, the name Carroll Shelby and his impact on motorsports are so well known that people outside of the car collector circle are familiar with the man and his long line of specialty Mustangs. The 1969 Shelby Mustang GT 500 offered here is an excellent example and looks outstanding in its Acapulco Blue finish with silver side stripe. As a GT 500, it is of course, equipped with a powerful Ford 428 Cobra Jet Ram Air V8 engine under hood. It is coupled to a C6 automatic transmission and according to the included Marti Report, was also optioned with Visibility Group, Sport Deck Rear Seat, Power Front Disc Brakes, Power Steering, Tilt-Away Steering Column, Selectaire Air Conditioning, AM Radio, Tinted Glass, Tachometer and Trip Odometer. Additional documentation includes an original owner’s manual, original factory to dealer invoice and some warranty work orders which were performed. As an added bonus, Carroll Shelby himself autographed the sun visor. The Shelby Mustangs have long been at the forefront of the collector car hobby and have always been coveted by a much higher number of people than there were vehicles to go around.
