The car offered here is a left-hand drive example that enjoyed a recent “second life” as part of a collection that supplied automobiles to movie studios. While it is in somewhat rough overall condition, the Traveller remains complete and mostly original. Finished in black with some surface texture, the steel body is surprisingly rust-free. The wooden components are complete and in good condition as well, requiring refinishing. As well, while the chrome is pitted, all trim pieces are complete remain with the car.
The interior is trimmed in original-appearing red upholstery, and features a banjo-style steering wheel in need of restoration. As well, the dash features a pod-mounted speedometer and aftermarket gauges. The rear cargo area has been fitted with a wooden cargo floor, containing two aftermarket radio speakers. The engine bay houses an original-appearing A30 engine, and while oxidation is present on the engine block and transmission, the underside of the hood, inner fenders, and undercarriage are extensively covered in black undercoating, and are solid in overall appearance.
This Traveller is reported to run nicely, and is presented in overall complete condition with its original Operation Manual. As the historic Morris Minor approaches its 60th anniversary this year, this automobile remains an interesting example of a landmark design.
