Back in the Thirties, American cars destined for South Africa were crated and shipped there in pieces, then later assembled by the selling dealer. This practice was due to Customs restrictions that banned cars not assembled in Africa. This fabulous example is one of those cars and it ended up in the possession of a South African collector, who subsequently moved to the U.S. and brought this car with him. It was completely restored some years ago using the original 221 cubic inch V8 with a 1936 McCullough Supercharger, polished heads, 3 speed transmission and General Jumbo wheels and tires. The upholstery and T14 top are new as is the wood grain dash. This interesting ’34 Ford has been featured in “The V8 Times” magazine.
