The Lotus 7 replica offered here was conceived and built from the ground up by an experienced and dedicated engineer and racing driver. With construction beginning in 1978, the car was intended for use in a variety of racing venues, while remaining street legal. Exclusively using new or rebuilt parts, the arduous process was completed in 1996, producing a car with a monocoque chassis, built to racing car standards. Moreover, it can be easily serviced and repaired, thanks to extensive use of Porsche 944 Turbo mechanicals, from the suspension to the transaxle. Most notably, the combination of a rear transaxle and front-engine setup produced a near 50/50 weight distribution, as well as sufficient foot room for easy pedal operation. Other mechanical features include a limited slip differential and adjustable Wilwood disc brakes. The exterior, comprising polished alloy panels with red FRP wings and nosecone, is complemented by a purpose-built interior, fitted with two bucket seats with four-point racing harnesses.
