This spectacular example is not just someone’s casual opinion, this car was shown at the Good Guys National Meet in Scottsdale Arizona and was nominated for Muscle Car of the Year. In addition, it was featured in Super Chevy Magazine with a colour article about this amazing automobile. Decoding the engine pad revealed that the QA code is indeed correct for a 409 cubic inch 380 hp V8 with a 4bbl carb and 4 speed transmission, and this car has the added 409 hp dual quad intake manifold & carbs setup. Decoding the trim tag reveals that the car rolled off the assembly line in Roman Red exterior (Code 923) with Bright Red interior (Code 879), exactly as it presented here today. In addition, this SS409 is equipped with dual rear antenna, 3:70 posi-traction rear axle, column-mounted tach, spinner hubcaps, gas door guard, power steering, power brakes, windshield washers and front bumper grille guard. Needless to say, this beauty has undergone a full-blown body-off restoration of the highest standards with a highly detailed undercarriage, engine bay, interior and trunk area. The rust-free body is extremely straight with a glass-like paint finish, beautiful chrome and aluminum moldings with no evidence of damage, and the restoration paid special attention to authenticity, which is why this Impala SS409 is one of the nicest examples anywhere.
