A one year only wonder, Ford assembled these special two door Parklane wagons to compete with Chevys popular Nomad wagon. Built on the ranch wagon platform, these 1956 models were equipped with the upscale Fairlane in mind, including stainless steel side moldings and high end upholstery. Ford did build 15,186 Parklanes verses 7,886 Nomads, however the popularity of the Nomad prevailed making the Ford a rarity today.
This original New Mexico wagon was the recipient of an expensive nut & bolt frame off restoration. Finished in flawless two tone Bermuda blue/diamond blue this unique body is highlighted with eye-catching show quality brightwork including distinctive side moldings, bumpers & grill, rear fender skirts, sunvisor, stone guards, dual spot lights, tinted glass and wide white wall radial tires with wire wheel covers. Matching six passenger two tone blue vinyl upholstery with four-way power front bench seat and fold down rear seat is appointed with wall to wall carpet highlighted in the rear with polished stainless strips, perfect side panel stainless and unique rear seat insert found on the Victoria. Equipped with the popular “Y” block 292-202hp four barrel V8 engine with dual exhaust, two speed automatic transmission, power steering & power brakes all of which perform without hesitation. Rare options include power windows, in dash AM/FM/MP3 stereo radio, cold AC with modern compressor, heavy duty updated 12V alternator and front driving lights. Detailed inside, engine compartment and undercarriage including painted blue floors and black frame and suspension components. This Park Lane is one of the nicest examples you will ever see and after looking hard for flaws, we only found some pitting in the chrome horn ring and some very minor cracks in the steering wheel. The Best is Right Here . . .
