Photos and condition report prepared by CCP Auctions.
Upon initial inspection, this truck portrayed the appearance of a sub-standard example and this first impression was mostly due to the amateur paint job and homemade rear bumper. The body was not properly prepped prior to paint application and currently the paint exhibits various imperfections including chips, cracks and small bubbles. However, closer inspection revealed that the body and frame are very solid showing no evidence of any significant corrosion issues. The clean sheet metal can be attributed to the fact that this truck came from Idaho and the predominantly rust-free body would make a good basis for someone who wanted to apply a nicer coat of paint, which would make a world of difference to the overall appearance. The glass is good to excellent with a small scratch evident on the driver’s side door glass. The interior is in generally good shape but there is a small cigarette burn in the driver’s seat. Chrome wheels have been fitted to the truck along with a set of radial tires for better handling. The engine has been replaced with a Buick Wildcat V8 engine which has been rebuilt and this is coupled to a Dynaflow automatic transmission which has been rebuilt at a cost of $4,000 US. The engine is called the Buick Wildcat 445 which is a 401 cubic inch nailhead engine from the Sixties. A set of Dolphin aftermarket gauges have been fitted to the dash and they are in working order.
