The Mercury production numbers for 1947 numbered 10,221 but the Canadian-built units, with the subtle front end differences, numbered far less. The example offered here, with a price tag of $2,002 in 1947, is one of those Canadian units making this a very rare one indeed. This spectacular Mercury underwent a no-expense-spared nut & bolt body-off restoration with much attention paid to detail and authenticity. The result of that restoration is a car with beautiful paint finish, stunning interior and show-quality chrome. Refinished in the original colour of Maize Yellow, the restoration included a complete detailing of the engine bay and undercarriage. The car is powered by a 239 cubic inch flathead V8 producing 100 horsepower coupled to a 3-speed manual transmission, and is equipped with a black canvas convertible top, radio, dual mirrors, wide whitewall tires, front and rear wingtips and beauty rings. A rare opportunity to acquire a splendid example of a rare Mercury.
