2003 was a significant year for GM as they celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Corvette. This 5th generation C5 Corvette offered the Z06 Package on the option sheet and performance was impressive with 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds and standing ¼ mile time of 12.4 seconds. Despite producing 405 horsepower from the 5.7 litre V8, GM achieved a relatively good fuel economy rating of 28 mpg US with the manual transmission and this was partially due to weight-saving measures such as titanium exhaust, thinner glass, lighter wheels and a lighter battery.
This great looking example, with only 85,000 actual km’s, was sold new at Hendrick Chevrolet in North Carolina and is equipped with the aforementioned 405 hp V8 coupled to a Borg-Warner T-56 Six-Speed transmission, traction control system, 4-wheel power disc brakes, polished aluminum wheels, limited slip differential, leather interior, 6-way power driver’s seat and much more. The car has a very good overall look with no obvious damage or flaws, with only minor scuffs and wear evident upon close inspection. The car performs well and still retains the original glove box pouch containing the owner’s manual and even a Z06 writing pen & pad and a Z06 tire gauge. Even the original Window Sticker goes with the sale of this awesome Corvette.
