This rare car has been restored with touring in mind. The V8 engine has been upgraded to a later unit and paired to an automatic transmission with dual exhaust and a newer “dual” master cylinder installed to handle braking. Radial wide whitewall tires, fender skirts, Olds Fiesta hubcaps. sun visor, dummy spot lights add that custom touch. Air conditioning blows cold, great looks and great performance. . . What more could one ask for?

The Monarch was the Canadian-built equivalent of the Mercury and 1950 was, and to this day still is, one of the most sought-after cars ever produced. The Monarch was a much lower production automobile than its Mercury cousin and this particular rare example has been restored with touring in mind. The V8 engine under the hood has been upgraded to a later unit and coupled to an automatic transmission with dual exhaust and a newer “dual” master cylinder installed to handle the braking chores. The car rides on radial wide whitewall tires with fender skirts and Olds Fiesta hubcaps to add that “custom” touch. To complete the exterior, a roof-mounted sun visor has been added along with a set of dummy spot lights and the car has been professionally painted to a glass-like finish. Because the car was built to drive, air conditioning was added to make that long drive comfortable on hot summer days. For even further driving enjoyment, the car has been fitted with a stereo CD player with remote control. The interior has been tastefully done with white “tuck & roll” upholstery and door panels and the trunk area was upholstered to match. All of this comes together for a great looking package but the best part comes when you fire it up and take it for a drive. The car easily shoots up to highway speeds and handles very smoothly with no vibrations. From the optional, rarely ordered “leaping lion” hood ornament to the detailed under hood compartment and trunk area, this is a great cruising Monarch. Great Looks and Great Performance . . . What more could one ask for?
