1999 Ferrari F355 F1 Spider

Sold at $105,600

First shown in 1994, the brilliant F355 silenced Ferrari’s critics with its smooth and refined aerodynamic body, enlarged V8 engine, and improved ergonomics. First available in Coupe and Targa form, the very desirable Spider soon appeared, with Ferrari’s first electrically operated convertible top. The mid-mounted V8 engine was enlarged to 3.5 liters of displacement, and with free-breathing, five-valve cylinder heads, it produced 375 horsepower at 8,500 rpm, and included a smooth-shifting six-speed gearbox and electronically adjustable shock absorbers. In testing at Ferrari’s test track in Fiorano, the new F355 immediately produced lap times that were two seconds quicker than those of the V12-powered 512 TR. Not surprisingly, the F355 was widely acclaimed by magazine road testers and legions of Ferrari enthusiasts.

This excellent example was produced in 1999, the final year of F355 production. With fewer than 13,000 kilometers and a stunning Fly Yellow finish, it features the $15,000 F1 manual transmission option with paddle-type fingertip shift levers and hydraulic actuators, as well as a Ferrari-approved Tubi exhaust system valued at $5,500. In addition, the cockpit is trimmed in hand-sewn leather upholstery with distinctive yellow stitching and equipped with power-operated seats, while other features include 18-inch wheels, red brake calipers, and Scuderia Ferrari shields grace the front fenders. The brilliant F355 literally reinvented the “supercar” class, and this excellent example can now be yours to experience.
