Carroll Shelby is famous for creating the most amazing sports cars in motor car history, but he designed and built only one car from scratch, that one being the Shelby Series 1. These exotic supercars were each hand built in his Las Vegas facility for one model year only, 1999, and a mere 249 examples were produced.
The creations are a perfect combination of stunning design and state of the art engineering, incredible power and performance and legendary pedigree. The cars feature full aluminum framework, a carbon fibre/composite body, perfect 50/50 weight distribution, and an Aurora based drivetrain with a 6 speed manual transmission, putting out 325 hp at a top speed of 170 miles per hour.
Car number 219, which has been driven only 544 documented miles in the past 20 years since new, is essentially a one owner car, that has been carefully stored and meticulously maintained, making it a time capsule, museum piece and one of the best examples in existence.
Therefore, the car is as new, and still “in the wrapper”.
This car comes with all documentation from new, including the original bill of sale and special Series 1 embossed owner’s manual, making its provenance totally bullet proof.
