One of only 1,695 Grand Nationals imported to Canada in 1987, this outstanding Regal Grand National was sold new in Southern Ontario. Only 17,844 original kilometers (that’s only 10,000 miles), clearly this example has been used sparingly. In fact, the average is slightly more than 500 kilometers each year! A perfect, original interior that yet today retains its new car smell. A well documented low mileage original example.
Without question, one of General Motors most iconic vehicles offered throughout 1980’s. Famously known as GM’s fastest production car in 1987, and with ’87 being the last year the Gran National was ever built or offered to the buying public, this makes for a very special example. There were only 1,695 WE2 Grand National packaged examples imported to Canada in 1987.
This outstanding Regal Grand National was sold new by a Cadillac, Pontiac Buick dealer in Southern Ontario. This car has seen very little use in the last 30 plus years. It has had just three owners from new and each was a fastidious collector with a deep appreciation for low mileage specialty vehicles. With only 17,400 original kilometers (that’s only 10,000 miles), clearly this example has been used sparingly. In fact, the average is slightly more than 500 kilometers each year!
Outstanding condition throughout, this GN boasts its factory original Goodyear Eagle GT tires, factory original chrome wheels and also features the highly sought after, low production removable T-roof glass panels with perfect original storage sleeves. A perfect, original interior that yet today retains its new car smell. The well appointed Buick has in addition to its WE2 package, ice cold air conditioning, power bucket seat, power windows, power locks, remote mirror, leather wrapped Sport Wheel, special Gran National badging and a list that continues on.
Exterior features include the blacked out trim which gave these cars their sinister appearance and spawned an entire generation of blackout trim copies both in the aftermarket and by other automakers. The Tuxedo Black paint gleams with a mirror like finish.
Under hood can be found one of the most important features of this exceptional car, the iconic 3.8 Litre SFI Intercooled Turbo V6 engine. These giant killers were certainly able to supply more than ample power to impress and many cars with larger sized V8 engines came out on the losing end when they tangled with a Buick Grand National in competition. This performance was supplemented by a unqiue Grand Touring suspension. The engine and engine bay are to be found in a condition which parallels that of the remainder of the car. That is to say, it is like showroom new.
A well documented low mileage original example including all dealer supplied books and manuals, Protection Cards, Delivery Report, original keys on selling dealer’s fobs, original sales brochures and catalogues, mileage documentation and General Motors of Canada Heritage paperwork.
If in 1987 you dreamt of owning one of these destined for greatness and soon to be legendary automobiles, this is the opportunity to answer those dreams and take stewardship of this outstanding, ultra-low mileage near new Buick Regal Gran National.
