The Series 1-1/2 XKE Jaguars exhibit features found in both the Series 1 and Series 2 models. Although not recognized as a separate series by Jaguar, enthusiasts have embraced the Series 1-1/2 name to the extent that it has become a widely acknowledged way to differentiate these transistional models. Of particular interest with this car is the fact that it is a Canadian spec. version which means the 4.2 litre engine was not subject to the same detuning as its US counterpart. Canadian XKE’s retained the triple carb setup of the earlier cars and produced approximately 20 hp more than ones sold in the United States. Given the much smaller Canadian market of the day, these more powerful Canadian Series 1-1/2 cars are today far more scarce and consequently far more sought after. This is a great chance to enjoy a seldom seen collector car which continues to appreciate.
