Classic pickups have enjoyed a great surge in popularity with hobbyists and collectors in recent years and the Ford models are no exception. However, many of these collectible trucks have been highly modified or treated to extensive restorations making original survivors grow more rare with each passing year. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone hoping to acquire a classic pickup in original survivor condition. This unbelievable truck was built and sold new in California and its condition bears this out. This California “Black Plate” truck had one single repaint in its correct original colour and the powertrain was rebuilt at a California Ford dealer in 2006. Heavily equipped, this truck features a 390 cubic inch V8 with automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, AM radio, front bumper guards, trailer towing package and cold blowing factory air conditioning. It also has the contractor package which provides a storage unit behind the seat. It has the Sport Custom package and the Explorer Special “D” package. The rare Explorer Special offered a large number of options allowing the buyer to equip the truck much like the XL or XLT models. This is a rare chance to own a highly collectible classic pickup in immaculate condition.
