Around 1300 Continentals were made for 1956 and some estimate that about half are still in existance. This one comes from the estate of an owner who was very passionate about these special cars. Only the second person to have it from new, he saw himself more caretaker than owner. As such, it shows well from the meticulous attention it received through the years. An older restoration that can still hold its head high on a show field.

In 1956 Ford decided they wanted to offer the most luxurious car in the world and while it was offered through the Lincoln dealer chain, the MkII was technically not a Lincoln. For just two short years, Ford would offer these cars as part of their own Continental brand. Approximately 1300 Continentals were assembled for 1956 and some enthusiast groups estimate that probably half of those are still in existance today. The example presented here comes from the estate of an owner who was very passionate about these very special automobiles. He was the second person to have the car from new and had always considered himself more as a caretaker than an owner. As such, it shows well from the meticulous attention it has received through the years. An older restoration that can still hold its head high on a show field, this wonderful vehicle exudes all of the elegance and optimism of post war America.
