1951 Mercury Monarch “custom” hot-rod with 502 c.i. GM Crate V8 developing 502 horsepower. Automatic 3-speed with a Ford limited slip rear axle. Polished 4-door (suicide opening rear doors) sedan painted in black pearl with 8 coats of laquer and wet sanded. Interior is Cadillac STS upholstery in 2-tone brown and beige with a period sun visor and a custom green tinted one-piece windshield. Dash is refitted with digital gauges, DVD/GPS system with video screens mounted in the rear of the front headrests. Power tilt steering with custom steering wheel. The power rear view mirrors are from a Pontiac Grand Prix and the car is fully air-conditioned with a rear seat armrest for added comfort. Original window winders have been converted to operate the power windows on all 4 doors. Additional engine bay modifications are a one piece aluminum exhaust ported through the rear bumper and a custom aluminum radiator. Various chrome trim pieces accent the engine bay and the steering is a ford front clip with power disc brakes. Modifications include air ride suspension, and keyless remote entry. The modified grill contains 11 chromed bars from a 1951 DeSoto with integrated parking/turn signals. The frenched-in chrome head lights complement the chromed front and rear bumpers. Taillights are from a 1985 Cadillac, and the fender skirts are custom fabricated. Includes professionally photographed and detailed coffee table book of this actual car. Over $150,000 invested!
